Coronation Street spoilers follow.
Suspicion that Coronation Street veteran Peter Barlow could've been involved in the assault of two people is hotting up.
An upcoming episode will show Carla confronting Peter and accusing him of violent behaviour, but he denies any involvement.
This comes after a new, opportunistic character Chelsey turns up in the Rovers pub with accomplice Jordan demanding money from Carla, causing them to be thrown out.

Carla is seen to be holding a newspaper during her conversation with Peter about the attack. Does that mean she's got wind of what happened – a serious assault of a man and a woman on a local estate – even after Peter's attempts to keep it from her?
Either way, she is left more confused than ever – and the question is will she believe him? And will this go on to cause a problem for them as a couple?

Coronation Street was due to run out of new episodes at the start of July. Now that the team are back at work, they're starting off by finishing three weeks' worth of half-finished episodes from before the lockdown. There will be no transmission gap on screen.
From July 24, the first episodes will air which were fully filmed after the lockdown. These will start with an on-screen time jump, to illustrate to viewers that they're in a world with COVID-19 and social distancing.
Iain MacLeod said: "It's just like the flip of a switch. I think the audience understands and will go with it. Very quickly we're into a post pandemic world and I am sure there will be continuity comments, but we have a mature audience who will understand."
Coronation Street currently airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm on ITV.
