Benedict Cumberbatch's turn as Hamlet will surely be one of the biggest theatre events of the year when it launches next month.
The Sherlock actor has now been pictured for the first time in rehearsals for the Shakespeare production at London's Barbican venue in August.
Not exactly dressed as the Prince of Denmark, Cumberbatch is seen in a casual t-shirt as he prepares for the demanding role that he will take on for 12 weeks.
Sian Brooke will play Ophelia in the production, while Cirián Hinds will portray Claudius in the play, which will be broadcast at cinemas around the world on October 15.
Theatre-lovers and 'Cumberbitches' flocked in their thousands to snap up tickets for the show earlier this year. It sold out in record time when over 20,000 people flooded the online queue just minutes after going on sale.
However, Sonia Friedman Productions and Sky Arts have allocated 100 tickets at £10 for every public performance.

Cumberbatch will return to Sherlock in a special one-off episode set in the 1890s later this year. A teaser trailer was unveiled during the Sherlock panel at Comic-Con last week.
