We're big fans of books at DS HQ – there's nothing better than curling up on your sofa (or standing squashed on the commute) and getting lost in a good book when you can't get decent internet or TV signal, right?
So you can imagine how chuffed we are to announce our parent company Hearst's big new thing, The Big Book Festival and, to kick off this exciting event, we'll also be launching The Big Book Awards – and YOU can be a judge.
If selected, you will be sent a book to read and review, with your feedback and score counting to the total vote – with 75 per cent of the overall marks decided by readers.

This showcase of the year's best reads from June 1, 2017, to May 31, 2018, will cover both fiction and non-fiction, selected by readers of our sister titles, including Cosmopolitan, Red, Harper's Bazaar and Good Housekeeping.
What to Read Next
Each will specialise in a category, from 'crime' to 'female writers', and many book-loving editors will be judging the finalists – once they've been vetted by a panel of you guys, obvs. The final winners will be announced at huge celebratory event in summer 2018.
Alongside the awards, Hearst will launch Big Book Live, a series of live experiences in London focusing on bringing the pages and themes of the shortlisted books to life. Further details about each of these events will be announced later in the year.
Judith Secombe, managing director of Hearst Brand Services, commented: "By creating the Big Book Festival, we're aiming to help boost the amazing work of authors across the country."
