The first trailer for Fall 2 has dropped – so if you're afraid of heights, we'd advise you to turn back now. The original movie was released in 2022, and follows two women trapped at the top of a TV broadcasting tower in the middle of the desert.

Released in cinemas to a reasonable box office, the movie found a new lease of life after being added to Netflix, with the success leading to a follow-up being greenlit.

Now we've been given our first taste of the sequel, which follows Jax (Harriet Slater), sister of Shiloh Hunter from the first movie, as she sets on a climb with her late sibling's friend Luce (Arsema Thomas).

However, "as they tightrope walk the perilous planks of Mount Kwan, a terrifying rockslide leaves them stranded 5,000 feet above ground", the synopsis adds.

"In the face of vertigo-inducing sequences, dark truths, and cruel twists, Jax must confront her deepest fears head-on to fight for survival and closure."

What to Read Next

The brief trailer gives a terrifying taste of events, as Luce perilously crosses a series of metal poles sticking out from a cliff to retrieve a backpack… only for one of them to break off.

Fall 2 is being penned by the first movie's writing team of Scott Mann and Jonathan Frank, with Jigsaw's Peter and Michael Spierig taking over as directors from Mann.

"We were pleasantly surprised by how everybody has such a visceral reaction to it," producer James Harris previously said of the first movie's success. "It is one of those movies where word of mouth really helps.

"You can make a good movie but unless you present companies with a way to market it, a lot of the time they mess it up. It was quite important for us to say, 'Shove it,' to people and control how to do the marketing."

Fall 2 is released in UK cinemas on 9 September.
