Hugh Jackman appears to have teased Wolverine 3 will be his last appearance as the Mutant.
The actor posted a picture on Instagram of Wolverine's claws with the caption: "WOLVERINE...ONE LAST TIME. HJ."
The third stand-alone Wolverine movie which is yet to be named is due to begin shooting "early next year" in the words of director James Mangold.
If it is to be Jackman's last appearance as the Mutant it goes against comments he made last month that he "wants to play Wolverine til [I] die".
He also revealed he would like a cameo in Deadpool starring Ryan Reynolds - who posted a picture of himself in his new costume yesterday (March 27).
The third Wolverine movie has been given a US release date of March 3, 2017.
