Human Traffic, the "brilliant" cult classic movie starring John Simm and Danny Dyer, has just landed a new streaming home in the UK.

Released in 1999, the film follows a group of twenty-somethings living in Cardiff as they navigate the '90s clubbing scene during a drug-fuelled weekend while juggling dead-end jobs.

Written and directed by Justin Kerrigan, a description of the film reads: "Hyped for rave culture and what that synthetic new energy can do when channelled into cinema, Human Traffic is game for a laugh.

"Unmistakably of the ’90s, it brings together ascendant actors of the moment (from John Simm to Danny Dyer), rolling with the brash cheekiness of that young, excitable cast."

What to Read Next

The Guardian said of the film: "A reminder of that interesting 90s moment when euphoria and uncomplicated fun had cultural cachet."

"Now regarded as a cult classic, this British comedy offers a smart and satirical look at the country's late-1990s subcultures and society," penned Common Sense Media.

Film Journal International said: "The leads bring plenty of energy to the story, but are shortchanged by thin writing that fails to build narrative momentum."

One user on IMDb wrote: "I've just rewatched this through eyes half closed after about 10 years and can confirm it's still a brilliant snapshot of the time. Brilliant soundtrack. Sweet, funny, flawed characters."

"After waiting a long time to see this film, I am glad to say that I was not disappointed. I hope to see more from the writer/director in the future," penned another.

Not everyone was a fan, with one user writing: "This movie is about the Cardiff club scene. If this is not enough to put you off the movie then just try to watch it."
