Passengers was met with some criticism following its release last year over its central twist, so someone has taken the time to 'fix' it.

The sci-fi romance starred Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence as two travellers on a 120-year journey through space when their sleep pods accidentally open too early, dooming them to die before reaching their destination.

Needless to say, there are spoilers for Passengers' entire plot following the trailer.

Not everything was as it seemed in the trailers, as it turned out that Pratt's Jim actually woke up Lawrence's Aurora, effectively 'killing' her with his decision.

Aurora is initially unaware that Jim has woken her up, so starts a relationship with him, and even though she gets angry with him for a bit when she learns of his dark decision, she forgives him and decides to stay awake, and the two live happily ever after.

It all struck us as a bit dodgy, even if Jim did go to sacrifice himself to save the ship, and YouTube user Nerdwriter1 felt exactly the same way, so has given the movie a little rejig.

What to Read Next

The excellent video sees the first act – where we get to know Jim – switched around with the second act when Aurora wakes up.

This switches the POV of the movie from Jim to Aurora, meaning that it could have led to a genuinely unsettling first act as we see what Jim has done to the ship, questioning his moves as to if he's a good guy or a bit creepy.

Of course, it doesn't fix everything as Nerdwriter1 admits there are still issues with its overall ending, but at least it makes Passengers play more like a character-driven horror than a soppy, unbelievable romance.

Plus we'd get to see Pratt play a creepy stalker and how cool would that be?
