Hands up who saw Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and thought that blind, stick-wielding ass kicker Chirrut Imwe was the coolest character (apart from Darth Vader, obviously)?
Well we've got good news for those of you wanting to see actor Donnie Yen in more big name films: he's going to be the lead actor in Sleeping Dogs.
Deadline revealed that Yen will star in the adaptation of the 2013 video game of the same name that gave Grand Theft Auto a run for its money.
Sleeping Dogs (the game) follows an undercover cop trying to infiltrate the Hong Kong criminal underworld and features plenty of parkour, dangerous driving, brutal hand-to-hand combat and, of course, shooty bang-bang stuff.
Here's hoping that the film will include all of those things and really show audiences the extent of Yen's martial arts skills, which we only saw a glimpse of in Rogue One.
Basically, imagine xXx: The Return of Xander Cage but without Vin Diesel and more Donnie Yen.
What to Read Next
The game featured a starry voice cast, including Lucy Liu, Will Yun Lee, Kelly Hu and Emma Stone. Here's hoping there are reprisals (or at least cameos) in this movie.
Sleeping Dogs will be produced by Neal H Moritz's Original Film company, who are behind The Fast and the Furious franchise and have a live-action/CGI adaptation of Sonic the Hedgehog in the pipeline.
