Sam Claflin and Emilia Clarke's romantic drama Me Before You has landed on BBC iPlayer. Released a decade ago, the story focuses on a young woman called Louisa who becomes a carer for banker William, who is paralysed after being involved in an accident.

His cynical outlook on life is lifted when Louisa shows him that life is worth living, with their lives and hearts both changing.

Fans wanting to catch the movie can now do so via iPlayer, where it will be available for the next month. It was previously available on Netflix, though has since been removed.

Me Before You is adapted by Jojo Moyes from her own 2012 novel, and features a supporting cast including Ozark's Janet McTeer, Clarke's Game of Thrones co-star Charles Dance, Downton Abbey's Brendan Coyle, Home and Away's Steve Peacocke and Murder Before Evensong's Matthew Lewis.

Fans have given it a positive response, one on IMDb calling it a "definite must-see film", adding: "Absolutely brilliant film. Those who criticise it for dealing with the subject of disability should look past the fact Will is disabled and look at the film in the light of what it aims to be, a touching, romance film."

Another called it very emotional, telling potential viewers: "Would recommend if you want a good cry, and if you're a fan of Emilia Clarke."

"What a wonderful movie! The acting was so well done," a third wrote. "My heart broke where it needed to break, and it laughed where it needed to laugh."

However, critical reception was more mixed, Me Before You earning a 55% score on Rotten Tomatoes based on 176 reviews.

London Evening Standard called it "old-fashioned and cosy" and "also part of a highly-charged and very 21st-century debate", though the Irish Times suggested it was "another variant on a threadbare formula".

Me Before You is streaming now on BBC iPlayer.
