If you're struggling with the heatwave that's happening across the UK at the moment, then you might need a chilly film to cool you down. We may have the perfect suggestion, with an Oscar-winning crime thriller from the 1990s being ideal viewing.
Fargo, the iconic film from the Coen Brothers, is currently available to stream in the UK on Mubi and MGM+, both of which can be purchased as add-on channels for existing Prime Video subscribers. They also have free trials for new subscribers, so don't miss out!
The crime drama is set in the titular North Dakota town, and follows down-on-his-luck car salesman Jerry Lundegaard (William H Macy). Strapped for cash, he hires two hitmen to kidnap his own wife with a view to getting a ransom from her wealthy father.

The scheme collapses, however, when the thugs commit another crime, which in turn brings in local police officer Marge Gunderson (Frances McDormand) to investigate. From there, plenty of twists and turns occur.
Fargo was acclaimed upon its release in 1996, with the film garnering seven nominations - including Best Picture and Best Director - at the 69th Academy Awards. McDormand won for Best Actress, while the Coens took home Best Original Screenplay.
