Toy Story 5's record-breaking box-office opening might be an indicator that we aren't done with the Toy Story universe anytime soon. The fifth film in the franchise was released on 19 June and sees Woody, Jessie, and the gang deal with a new threat: technology, in the form of Lilypad.
In the US, the film's opening brought in $160 million (£121 million), making it the second-biggest for Pixar behind 2018's The Incredibles 2 at $182.6 million (£137.7 million).
Worldwide, Toy Story 5 opened with $312 million (£235 million), again the second-biggest for Pixar - this time behind Inside Out 2's $384 million (£290 million).
