My Week with Marilyn, an acclaimed historical drama starring Mr Bates vs the Post Office, Detectorists and Marvel Cinematic Universe actor Toby Jones, is set to leave BBC iPlayer in just a few days.

The 2011 film will be removed from the service in the early hours of Sunday 28 June (1.21am, specifically), and at the time of writing, it's not available as part of any other streaming subscription.

Set in 1956, the film follows the production of the film The Prince and the Showgirl, with Laurence Olivier and Marilyn Monroe, perhaps at the height of her fame at the time.

Junior assistant Colin Clark is assigned to look after Marilyn, but soon discovers that things aren't as perfect in her world as it appears.

There's a proper stacked British cast in this one, with Michelle Williams, Kenneth Branagh, Emma Watson, Dominic Cooper, Judi Dench, Zoë Wanamaker and Derek Jacobi all starring.

It also serves as an early film role for Eddie Redmayne, who had already made waves on the stage (including winning an Olivier Award) and would star in Les Misérables a year later.

Williams and Branagh actually received nominations at the Oscars, for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actor, respectively.

My Week with Marilyn was a big hit with the critics as well, and currently sits at a very impressive 82% positive on Rotten Tomatoes from 188 reviews.

The Seattle Times wrote that Williams "perfectly [captures] Monroe's way of rhythmically whispering through a song, looking softly frightened when uncertain, and not strolling so much as delicately oozing across the floor".

Metro called it a "compelling look at Marilyn Monroe's insecurities" that's "a little rough around the edges but it still has sufficient glamour, warmth and intrigue to engage".

"The stand-off between Marilyn Monroe and Laurence Olivier while making The Prince and the Showgirl is recreated wonderfully in this entertaining film", wrote The Guardian, which added: "Branagh is tremendous as Olivier: this is a part he was born to play."

My Week with Marilyn is available to stream on BBC iPlayer, for a limited time.
