Tom Holland has confirmed Hollywood's worst-kept secret: he is married to Zendaya. The couple have kept largely coy about the reports, which stemmed from Zendaya's close friend, confidante and stylist Law Roach, but we've now got official confirmation.

In a new chat with Esquire UK, Holland recalled how his grandmother thought she hadn't been invited to their wedding when she saw the AI wedding photos that went viral on social media. Holland was asked whether other family members had to be reassured, with the star replying: "No, because they were all there."

If you're hoping to now know everything about their wedding, Holland quickly shut that prospect down by adding: "That's all you'll get on that."

He did, however, praise his now-wife Zendaya and the impact she's had on his life. "Our business can present very stressful situations and it’s really nice to have a bedrock of a relationship that will stand the test of time," Holland reflected.

"We can support each other in ways that only we can, because only we understand really what it's like to live this life, and I think that is such a luxury, because I just don't understand how I would be able to have anything like that with anyone else."

He added: "So, for me, I found my person. She's my best friend, and I'm the happiest I have ever been when I'm with her, but I have also never felt so supported and safe, ever. Period."

Earlier this month, Holland opened up on his working relationship with Zendaya, revealing a moment on Spider-Man: Brand New Day that wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for their close connection.

After telling the director Destin Daniel Cretton that a scene between the two of them 'wasn't working', the director sent the crew home for a rewrite. "We came in the next day, we reshot the scene, and I'm so glad we did, because it sings in the movie. It really does," Holland noted.

At least we don't have too long to wait to find out what scene it is as Spider-Man: Brand New Day swings into cinemas next month.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is released in cinemas on 31 July.
