An epic sci-fi film hailed as "visually dazzling" and "flawless" is coming to MGM+ via Prime Video. Based on the 2021 novel by Andy Weir, Project Hail Mary stars Ryan Gosling as a middle school teacher who wakes up in space with no recollection of how he got there.
A synopsis for the film adds: "As his memory returns, he begins to uncover his mission: solve the riddle of the mysterious substance causing the sun to die out. He must call on his scientific knowledge and unorthodox ideas to save everything on Earth from extinction… but an unexpected friendship means he may not have to do it alone."
Also starring Sandra Hüller, James Ortiz and Lionel Boyce, Project Hail Mary quickly became the third highest-grossing film of 2026, amassing a whopping $681 million worldwide.
