Olivia Colman will soon be seen in Netflix's adaptation of Pride and Prejudice, as well as unique new romance Wicker on the big screen. But if you can't wait for that, we've now also got your first look at her new drama with Russell Tovey.
Directed by Andrew Haigh, Wild Bird centres on the relationship between fashion designer Alexander McQueen and Isabella Blow, the fashion editor credited with discovering him. It sees Blow (Colman) take McQueen (Tovey) on an imagined road trip and promises a "new and interpretive approach to one of fashion's most storied relationships".
In real life, their relationship saw Blow serve as McQueen's mentor and muse, before it fell apart when McQueen became Givenchy's head designer and didn't give Blow a position at the iconic fashion house. When Blow died by suicide in 2007, McQueen dedicated his next show to her.
Wild Bird is filming now in London, and you can check out a first look below at Colman and Tovey's transformation into the '90s fashion icons below:

The short film has been written by Tovey and comes from WePresent, the Oscar-winning arts platform of WeTransfer, with Susie Hall of HATO Pictures producing. Haigh and Tovey serve as executive producers, with legendary costume designer Sandy Powell also working on the movie.
What to Read Next
"I've had a lifelong fascination with Alexander McQueen, his artistry and persona on and off the runway and the way he carried himself has been endlessly inspiring," Tovey said when the project was announced (via Variety).
"As an actor he's a man I've always wanted to portray and as a writer he's a character I've longed to get under the skin of. The friendship between Isabella and Lee is beautifully tragic and endlessly compelling. It's an honour to write about one of my heroes and I couldn't be prouder of the team that we have assembled to bring this story to life."

Haigh – who wrote and directed the likes of All of Us Strangers and 45 Years – was previously set to direct an Alexander McQueen biopic in 2016, with Jack O'Connell starring as the designer.
However, development on that project has since stalled and it's unlikely that biopic will happen, at least in that originally-announced form.
WeTransfer, through its arts platform WePresent, previously won the Oscar for Best Live Action Short Film for The Long Goodbye in 2022. Their animated short The Brown Dog was also an official selection at Tribeca Film Festival.
Wild Bird does not yet have a release date.
