Claire Foy enjoyed a bit of fun after getting a series of quickfire questions from an audience member – including acing an Adele impression. The star, who can currently be seen in the movie Savage House, was doing a Q&A at SXSW London when the mic was handed to presenter Sugapuff.

After praising her "beautiful soul" (as seen in an Instagram clip of the exchange), he asked Foy about everyday stuff she does despite being a big movie star, to which the actor responded: "I do all things that other human beings do."

Pressed on her guilty pleasures, such as buying cheap things from Tesco, Foy revealed: "I used to work at Tesco… I know what goes on there and I don't shop there anymore."

"I have lots of snacks," she went on to share when asked about her favourite on-set packed lunch. "I eat only 100 percent dark chocolate, which most people find really gross. I do need to be healthy."

Foy also recommended people do gardening, explaining: "Gardening's really great, it's good for the soul… I'm feeding my plants for the first time, which makes me feel like an adult, and they appreciated me for it, I think. And I talk to them."

As moderator Clarisse Loughrey tried to wrap up, Sugapuff decided to launch into a rendition of Adele's 'Someone Like You', going over to the stage as he encouraged Foy to join in.

Sure enough, she sang a line from the song, fumbling the lyric as she quipped: "Sometimes I laugh and sometimes I… something else instead."

Foy is perhaps best known for playing Queen Elizabeth II in the first two seasons of The Crown, and has starred in the likes of All of Us Strangers, Women Talking and H Is for Hawk in recent years.

Savage House is out today, and focuses on her and Richard E Grant's characters, Lady Savage and Sir Chauncey Savage, as they try to improve their social standing in Georgian Britain.

It comes as the couple are facing bankruptcy, while the country is also facing a smallpox outbreak and a Jacobite uprising, the synopsis teasing: "Filled with duels, decadence, and bloodshed, this is a madcap play on class and power."

Savage House is now available to watch in UK and US cinemas.
