Gillian Anderson's much-anticipated new movie with Hacks star Hannah Einbinder has confirmed its first UK screening, two months ahead of its release in UK and Ireland cinemas in August.

SXSW London has announced that Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma will receive its UK premiere as the closing movie of this year's festival, which runs from 1 to 6 June. Tickets are on sale now from the official site, so don't miss out.

The third movie from celebrated writer/director Jane Schoenbrun follows a young director (Einbinder) who is given the chance to resurrect the classic Camp Miasma slasher franchise. But when she meets the original movie's star (Anderson), the two women fall into a world of desire, fear and delirium.

"Jane Schoenbrun has been building one of the most fascinating bodies of work in cinema today. Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma builds on every touchpoint of Schoenbrun's work, exploring horror, fandom, memory, and identity, and pushes it further," said Anna Bogutskaya, Head of the Screen Festival.

"Every scene between Hannah Einbinder and Gillian Anderson was so charged I was afraid the screen might catch fire."

When the first look at the movie was released earlier this year, Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma was called a "new kind of horror remake".

Schoenbrun added that it was their attempt at "the 'sleepover classic': an insane yet cosy midnight odyssey that beckons to unsuspecting viewers from the horror section at the local video store".
