Rich Flu, the "tense" thriller with a "unique twist" starring Timothy Spall, is now available to watch at home. Released in 2024, the film follows a woman named Laura (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) as she fights to protect her family from a deadly disease that is targeting the richest people on Earth, starting with billionaires.

The logline reads: "Money can't buy happiness, but what if it can kill you? When a deadly disease impacts the most wealthy, influential people in the world, how far will they go to save themselves?"

Spall stars alongside his son Rafe Spall, and they are joined on the cast by Lorraine Bracco, Jonah Hauer-King, Dixie Egerickx and César Domboy.

Co-written and directed by Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia, the film received mixed reviews from critics, though audiences seem to view it more favourably.

One IMDb user called it "a tense and intriguing Spanish/US co-production with an unusual premise, including a great cast of international actors".

"A brutally satirical critique of the world order. Presented to the audience with an alarmingly familiar theme with a unique twist," penned another. "Great cinematography that brings out the magnitude of the fallout and the haunting revelation of the contaminated."

One viewer further labelled it "a quite disturbing but unique scenario about the poisonous/mundane 'nature' of wealth".

Not all the reviews were glowing, however, with one person writing: "This movie is starting quite slow with lots of annoying people, gets slightly intriguing in the middle part and suddenly fades out even slower into nothing."
