You, Me & Tuscany aims to continue the rom-com renaissance at the cinema this weekend, and it's off to a promising start. The new movie, called a "charming crowd-pleaser" by The Hollywood Reporter, has debuted with a strong Rotten Tomatoes rating after its first reviews.
Directed by Kat Coiro, the movie follows Anna (Halle Bailey) who escapes to Italy after a chance encounter with Matteo (Lorenzo de Moor), a handsome Italian who has a villa in Tuscany sitting empty.
Unfortunately, Matteo's mother shows up unexpectedly and Anna lets her believe that she is actually Matteo's fiancée. It's a lie that starts to unravel when Matteo's cousin Michael (Regé-Jean Page) shows up, and quickly sparks up a connection with Anna that will transform her life.

The Independent

USA Today
"While You, Me & Tuscany doesn't add anything significantly new or innovative to the rom-com recipe, it's a breezy respite for those who dig the familiar in their escapist pleasure."
Time Out
"It's not going to win any awards, but it'll sure make an excellent in-flight movie -- ideally en route to Italy."

"You, Me & Tuscany is a cheesy and simple fantasy, 14-karat film fluff that won’t change the world – but will give your brain a welcome break from it."
Next Best Picture
"Regé-Jean Page and especially Halle Bailey shine in this enjoyably self-aware, easily-digestible romantic comedy."
You, Me & Tuscany is released in cinemas on 10 April.
