Heated Rivalry star Hudson Williams has landed a major new movie role opposite Twinless star Dylan O'Brien. Titled Apparatus, the darkly comedic thriller follows Williams as a struggling young rideshare driver named Tyler.
Tyler comes under the influence of a self-styled entrepreneur named JP, played by O'Brien, who offers him a future in his handheld-massager business.
What Tyler thinks is a dream opportunity soon unravels and he is pulled into a violent downward spiral by JP.

Per a Deadline report, the film will serve as the directorial debut for Canadian actor Sofia Banzhaf, best known for her role in I Am in the World as Free and Slender as a Deer on a Plain. Banzhaf has written the film alongside Grayson Moore.
Williams rose to fame starring opposite Connor Storrie in the hit queer hockey romance from HBO Heated Rivalry, which has been renewed for a second season.

Storrie recently landed a lead role in an upcoming comedy from A24 titled Peaked, starring and directed by Molly Gordon from a script she co-wrote with Allie Levitan, who also stars.
They are joined on the cast by Emma Mackey, Simone Ashley, Laura Dern, Levon Hawke, Mitra Jouhari, and Gabby Windey.
According to Deadline, plot details and Storrie's role are being kept under wraps, though it is understood to be set during a high school reunion, featuring two former popular girls who try to relive their teenage years.
Meanwhile, O'Brien recently starred in the Sam Raimi horror Send Help, opposite Rachel McAdams as two colleagues who are stranded on a deserted island following a plane crash.
Speaking about O'Brien's character development, Raimi said: "[O'Brien] was really the author of pushing that character to the edge. I was afraid.
"I would say to him, 'Dylan, we've got to come back, remember in the second act? We talked about how we're going to identify with you and slowly lose identification with her, and if you take us too far…'."
