Jennifer Garner's beloved '00s rom-com 13 Going on 30 is officially getting a remake. According to Deadline, Garner will be executive producing the new project in collaboration with Netflix.
While we don't have any details about the plot, we do know that Emily Bader and Logan Lerman are set to star as the leads. Meanwhile, Brett Haley will be serving as director, with Hannah Marks writing the script.
The upcoming movie will mark Bader's second rom-com for the streamer, following the success of People We Meet on Vacation. The 2026 adaptation was based on Emily Henry's best-selling novel and was also directed by Haley.

"13 Going on 30 is one of those rare, perfect films. Funny, emotional, deeply human, with unforgettable performances from Jennifer Garner, Mark Ruffalo and Judy Greer. I'm a longtime fan, so stepping into this reimagining comes with tremendous responsibility," Haley said of the project.
"Jennifer Garner being on board as an executive producer, after playing such a big part of what made the original special, is especially meaningful."

The original 2004 movie centres around unpopular teen Jenna Rink who wishes she could become a thriving adult. However, when she wakes up the next day as a 30-year-old, she realises her successful new life isn't quite what she expected.

13 Going on 30 also received a musical stage show, which debuted in London last summer. Garner served as executive producer, while the original movie's writers Josh Goldsmith and Cathy Yuspa penned the show.
"We can't wait for a new generation to grab some Razzles and feel thirty, flirty, and thriving," the writers said at the time of the announcement.
