Daniel Craig might have been better known as James Bond in 2008, but his role as 007 didn't stop him from delivering other must-see performances. Edward Zwick's war drama Defiance might have landed mixed reviews, but as in most movies he does, Craig's performance was praised.
If you've never heard of the movie or fancy a rewatch, you're in luck as Defiance has just been added to BBC iPlayer, following its airing last night on BBC Two. The movie is available to watch for the next 29 days.
It's also currently available to watch on Prime Video for all subscribers, but will be removed from the streaming service in 14 days.
Not to be confused with the sci-fi Western series of the same name, Defiance tells the true story of the Bielski brothers – played by Craig, Jamie Bell, Liev Schreiber and George MacKay – who saved and recruited Jewish refugees in Belarus during World War II.
Defiance was hailed as "haunting, impressive and moving" by The Times on its release in 2008, with The Mail adding: "It isn't all it might have been, but it's still a gripping yarn, intelligently crafted, worth seeing."
You can see for yourself what you think of Defiance by watching it right now on BBC iPlayer.

We still don't actually know who will replace Daniel Craig as James Bond, despite heavy rumours linking Callum Turner to the role. However, we know the next Bond movie will be different as Amazon MGM Studios have taken over creative control of the series.
Following the announcement of the shock news last year, Craig praised long-time Bond producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, who produced all five of Craig's 007 outings.
"My respect, admiration and love for Barbara and Michael remain constant and undiminished," he said. "I wish Michael a long, relaxing (and well-deserved) retirement and whatever ventures Barbara goes on to do, I know they will be spectacular and I hope I can be part of them."
Defiance is now available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
