The Wrecking Crew, the action film hailed as "cinematic comfort food", has arrived on Amazon Prime Video. Starring Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista, The Wrecking Crew follows estranged brothers Jonny (Momoa) and James (Bautista) as they work together to uncover the truth behind their father's murder in Hawaii.

The cast also includes Dracula's Claes Bang, The Book of Boba Fett's Temuera Morrison, Novocaine's Jacob Batalon, The Expanse's Frankie Adams, Hell Dogs' Miyavi, Barry's Stephen Root, and Sheriff Country's Morena Baccarin.

Directed by Ángel Manuel Soto, The Wrecking Crew is now available to watch on Prime Video for subscribers worldwide. If you don't have an Amazon Prime membership, you can sign up now to take advantage of their 30-day free trial.

The film currently holds an 82% Rotten Tomatoes rating based on 17 reviews, with The Hollywood Reporter writing: "Movies like this depend almost entirely on chemistry between the co-stars, and fortunately, Bautista and Momoa have plenty of it."

The Guardian said The Wrecking Crew was a "guilty pleasure", while Radio Times added that the "set pieces are certainly spectacular".

The Daily Beast added: "Never quite as funny as it wants to be, but making up for that in the violence department, it’s a healthy serving of slam-bang cinematic comfort food."

Screen Rant wrote: "The combination of Soto's slick direction and nice chemistry between Bautista and Momoa ultimately keeps The Wrecking Crew mostly afloat."

Meanwhile, MovieWeb summarised: "The Wrecking Crew is a no-holds-barred action comedy that gleefully embraces savage extremes to entertaining effect. Dave Bautista and Jason Momoa are fantastic in a raunchy, bloody, and swift narrative that never takes its foot off the gas."

Speaking to Mamas Geeky ahead of The Wrecking Crew's release, Soto explained how he balanced the comedy and drama of the film's narrative.

"Everybody understood who their character was and what they were supposed to do in the moment. There is action and comedy, but there is also heart," he began.

"I wanted the action to be brutal, but I didn’t want it to pull people out of the experience. By sprinkling humor and emotion, you experience action through the character, not just through punches and explosions."

The Wrecking Crew is streaming now on Prime Video.
