One of Jason Statham's classic thrillers is now available to stream in the UK on a new platform. Despite being received relatively poorly by critics, it's been praised for its "searing performances", with Statham "doing what he does best".
The film is 2011's Blitz, and it's now on Prime Video.
Not to be confused with the 2024 Saoirse Ronan project of the same name, the British action movie is based on a 2002 novel by Ken Bruen and follows a violent police officer as he tries to catch a serial killer in south east London.
Statham's co-stars include Pride favourite Paddy Considine, Game of Thrones' Aiden Gillen, Fresh Meat's Zawe Ashton and two-time Olivier Award winner Mark Rylance.
Also on board is Sherwood's David Morrissey, playing a newspaper reporter who works with the murderer.

What to Read Next
The movie only has a 48% score on Rotten Tomatoes, with the consensus reading: "A middling crime thriller largely assembled from wearyingly familiar parts, Blitz sacks a game Jason Statham's performance behind the line of genre scrimmage."
Among the critiques, the Evening Standard said: "All three men [Statham, Considine and Gillen] give searing performances and young cinematographer Robert Hardy dwells with palpable relief on their expressive features."
Empire described it as "a rough-cut crime thriller that sees Jason Statham back on familiar turf and doing what he does best", while Hot Press gave a four-star review and said: "Smart, sharp, shocking, and at times bloody (and bloodily) hilarious, Blitz's witty script and pacy action elevates its simple premise into a brilliantly gritty tale of moral ambiguity."

Statham has plenty more in the pipeline: in 2026 he's set to star in Shelter, another action thriller in which he plays a former assassin forced to take out his former organization in order to protect a girl who had been supplying him.
Bill Nighy, Naomi Ackie and Daniel Mays co-star in the Ric Roman Waugh-directed caper, which is out on 30 January 2026.
He's also completed filming on Mutiny, in which he plays a private security worker with a background in the Special Forces, who is framed for murdering his Thai billionaire friend. Annabelle Wallis, Jason Wong and Adrian Lester are also in the cast, and it'll be out on 21 August 2026.
Blitz is streaming on Prime Video in the UK.
