The Untouchables, the iconic gangster crime drama starring Kevin Costner and Sean Connery, is on TV tonight. With heaps of violence, tense set pieces and an Academy Award-winning performance, this is perfect Sunday night viewing.
The 1987 film, which is directed by Brian De Palma, follows Eliot Ness (Costner) and his team of agents at the Bureau of Prohibition as they seek to bring down notorious gangster Al Capone (Robert De Niro) in 1930s Chicago.
Featuring Andy Garcia and Patricia Clarkson in supporting roles, the popular crime drama is airing tonight at 10pm on BBC Two, so don't miss it! It will also likely be added to streaming service BBC iPlayer after, so you may have more time to watch it.
Upon its release, the film was a hit at the box office as it grossed over $106 million against a budget of $25 million, and it had some success during awards season as Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Jimmy Malone.
On Rotten Tomatoes, the film has a solid approval rating of 83% from 76 reviews, while IMDb is currently reporting an impressive average user rating of 7.8 out of 10 from 349,000 reviews.
