Jennifer Lawrence has confirmed that she and Emma Stone are teaming up to produce a new Muppets movie. The project is set to focus on Miss Piggy, the star also teasing that they themselves may also co-star in the film.
Appearing on the Las Culturistas podcast with Bowen Yang and Matt Rogers, the trio discussed recent Broadway hit Oh, Mary!, which is written by Cole Escola.
Touching upon it, Lawrence then revealed: "Emma Stone and I are producing a Miss Piggy movie, and Cole is writing it."
Pressed on whether they would star in it, the actor responded: "I think so… We have to."
Further details are under wraps at the moment, though this will no doubt be exciting for fans of the two Oscar-winning stars, whose careers and rises to fame have coincided, though have never worked together.

The Muppet Show is set to be revived next year for a Disney+ special produced by Seth Rogen and Sabrina Carpenter – with the latter singer also set to star.
The most-recent screen iteration of the franchise was TV series The Muppets Mayhem, which was cancelled by Disney+ in 2023 after just one season.
"What a long, strange trip it’s been! The highs (thanks Zoot!), the lows…," co-creator Jeff Yorkes said at the time of the axing. "A huge thank you to our loyal fans and viewers. I hope audiences continue to discover our little show and that it brings them some joy… and some Mayhem!! Rock on!!"
Fellow creator Adam F Goldberg previously expressed a desire to see a Muppets-style universe, telling Gizmodo that they "have very lofty dreams that Disney starts this Muppetverse where it's just like Marvel or Star Wars, this web of movies and specials and animation".
Lawrence's most-recent project is movie Die My Love, which co-stars Robert Pattinson and focuses on a young mother who develops postpartum depression and enters psychosis alongside her partner.
