Relay, the "suspenseful" thriller starring Riz Ahmed and Lily James, has confirmed its UK release date.
The film sees Ahmed portray a mysterious fixer who "specialises in brokering lucrative payoffs between corrupt corporations and the individuals who threaten their ruin". With secrecy being a valued commodity, the fixer ensures "meticulous planning".
His world is turned upside down, however, as he receives a message from a potential client, Sarah Grant (James). She needs his protection just to stay alive, beginning a game where the rules quickly start to "change".
Featuring Sam Worthington and Willa Fitzgerald in supporting roles, Relay has now had its release date confirmed for the UK, with the film due to hit the big screen on 31 October. This comes just over two months from its US release, which is this week.
Written by Justin Piasecki and directed by David Mackenzie, the film premiered at the 49th Toronto International Film Festival in September, and has proven to be a hit with critics thus far as it currently has an approval rating of 86% on Rotten Tomatoes from 35 reviews.

"Relay is a great ride, overflowing with creativity and firing on all cylinders for a memorable and enthralling watch," wrote Awards Buzz, while The Guardian said that it evoked the feeling of 1970s paranoid thrillers with its "sleek" and "suspenseful" tone.
"Relay isn’t out to set the world on fire, it just wants to be a hand-crafted thriller that communicates a real sense of personal investment," opined IndieWire, while Vulture described it as "tense" and "absurdly gripping".

Slant Magazine was also effusive in their praise, writing: "Set to the rhythms of a pulsing, ultramodern New York milieu, the film, at its best, wrings real tension and excitement out of the simple exchanging of clandestine messages and sensitive information."
While Relay is set to hit cinemas in the next couple of months, Austin Butler's and Matt Smith's 1990s-set thriller Caught Stealing will hit the big screen next week, and it looks to be a hit with audiences judging by its early reactions.
Relay is in UK cinemas on 31 October.
