Rylan Clark has landed an unexpected new role, with the presenter set to appear in a major feature film.
Best known for his presenting stints on Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two and This Morning, Rylan will soon enter the world of Hollywood as he's landed a voice role in the UK version of the upcoming animated film Smurfs.
"MAJORLY excited to share that I’ll be playing VANITY Smurf in the new Smurfs Movie released July 18th here in the UK….. off to check my hat. 💅X," wrote the presenter on Instagram, with an accompanying behind-the-scenes video seeing him amusingly ask: "What is my job?"
The news was received warmly by fans and followers in the comment section, with one user writing: "This is SO COOL!! Congratulations, didn’t think I’d be watching a smurfs movie at the ripe old age of 29 but you bet I’ll be front row if you’re part of it!! Xxx."
"Rylan + Vanity Smurf = ICONIC smurf duo!" commented the official page for the film, with another user adding: "I loved the last smurfs movie. Cannot wait to go to the cinema and watch this one."

What to Read Next
Rylan isn't the only famous face from British television to have a role in the film, with Jon Richardson and Giovanna Fletcher voicing the roles of Grouchy Smurf and Worry Smurf respectively.
The trio will only appear in the UK release of the animation, with Maya Erskine, Chris Miller and Billie Lourd voicing the respective roles of Vanity, Grouchy and Worry in the US version of the film.

Smurfs, which has been directed by Miller and written by Pam Brady, serves as a reboot of the series, with the action following Smurfette (Rihanna) as she leads a band of little blue creatures in the search for Papa Smurf (John Goodman).
While Rylan will soon enter the magical world of the Smurfs, the presenter will also be seen on the small screen alongside Rob Rinder again for the second series of Rob and Rylan's Grand Tour, with the pair set to travel across India.
Smurfs is released in cinemas on 18 July.
