Mads Mikkelsen will be reprising his role as a fan-favourite villain from the world of James Bond in a "thrilling" new project.
The actor starred opposite Daniel Craig as the menacing Le Chiffre in 2006's Casino Royale, which followed the MI6 agent in his bid to bring down a major terrorist organisation via a high-stakes poker game.
Nearly two decades on from the acclaimed action film, Mikkelsen will reprise his role as the iconic villain for video game Hitman: World of Assassination, with the character being available as part of the Elusive Target package.
Featuring both Mikkelsen's likeness and voice, the character - dubbed 'The Banker' in the Hitman universe - is the latest target for Agent 47, who travels to the Casino Monarchique in Paris to confront his new adversary.
"Le Chiffre is a character I have always enjoyed – he’s calculating, cold, and ruthless," said Mikkelsen in a statement. "Bringing him into the world of Hitman makes for a thrilling collaboration."

"We are beyond thrilled to welcome Mads Mikkelsen to Hitman: World of Assassination," said Hakan Abrak, CEO at IO Interactive. "Players are really going to enjoy this new mission, which marks the return of Le Chiffre after nearly 20 years."
"Mads Mikkelsen returns as Le Chiffre, the iconic private banker to the criminal underworld, known for his mastery of games of chance and probability," reads the logline for the project.
"A recent failed venture left him in dire straits, losing vast sums of both legitimate and illicit capital.
