LEGO has launched one of its most adorable sets ever with a Toothless the dragon model kit you'll want to own.

The new set is inspired by Universal Pictures' live-action reimagining of DreamWorks Animation’s How to Train Your Dragon and invites builders to create a replica of the iconic Night Fury dragon, Toothless.

The set consists of 784 pieces, and includes "intricate details that bring Toothless to life, including a saddle, repaired tail fin, and articulated joints to allow for versatile posing".

The model also includes accessories such as plasma-blast and fish attachments, offering a range of display options that capture the essence of the beloved dragon.

Priced at £59.99, the LEGO Icons How to Train Your Dragon: Toothless set, is available for pre-order now ahead of its official launch on 1 July.

Based on Cressida Cowell's 2003 book of the same name, the How To Train Your Dragon live-action remake is set for release in cinemas on 9 June in the UK.

The film follows the same plot as the 2010 animation and sees an awkward teenage viking named Hiccup (Mason Thames) as he decides to befriend a dragon instead of killing it, naming the cute creature Toothless.

Directed by Dean DeBlois, the same director who made the animated version, the film also brings back Gerard Butler as Hiccup's father, Stoick the Vast.

Previously speaking about his decision to make a live-action version of the movie, DeBlois told The AU Review: "It's an interesting one for me, because I've firmly been on the side of not just adapting those films as a trend.

"I love animation, and I love those films that come out of the studios, but I've never been for remaking movies in a new medium without any real purpose to it.

"But when Universal talked about this project and seeing it through as a live-action film, it, to me, kind of pinged something in me regarding the making of the first movie that was always an ambition for Chris Sanders and I. Which is to lean into a live-action sensibility."

The How To Train Your Dragon live-action remake is released in cinemas on 9 June.
