HBO has released a first look at Jesse Armstrong's upcoming movie Mountainhead, and confirmed its release date.
The Succession creator has written and directed the new film, which is set to premiere on May 31 on Max in the US. In the UK, it will debut on Sky and NOW on June 1.
Per the official logline, Mountainhead is set "against the backdrop of a rolling international crisis" and follows a group of billionaire friends, though further details remain under wraps for now.
The cast is led by The Office's Steve Carell as Randall, Queer's Jason Schwartzman as Hugo Van Yalk, Poor Things actor Ramy Youssef as Jeff, and Gotham's Cory Michael Smith as Venis.
Rounding out the ensemble are Hadley Robinson, Andy Daly, Ali Kinkade, Daniel Oreskes, David Thompson, Amie MacKenzie and Ava Kostia.

A first look image from Mountainhead features the four central billionaires (Carell, Schwartzman, Youssef and Smith) grinning at the camera while wearing matching orange snowsuits, while another shows them having a conversation over some beers inside a mansion.
A third photo shows the exterior of an impressive house, which sits on top of a snowy mountain.
Mountainhead marks Armstrong's feature directorial debut, as well as his first project since Succession came to an end in 2023 after four seasons.

While rumours of a Succession spin-off began circulating following the show's conclusion, Armstrong later ruled out the possibility by saying that it "doesn't feel like the most interesting thing to do".
He then added that he'd "written them [the characters] enough now".
Kieran Culkin, who starred in the show as Roman Roy, echoed Armstrong's sentiments when asked about a potential spin-off at the Emmy Awards, saying: "I would never say never, but highly unlikely... it would all depend on what Jesse Armstrong wanted to do.
"But Jesse's instinct, and all our instinct, is that it ended in the right place. We didn't tie it up, we left them to just carry on in their strange and frightening world."
