Netflix's eagerly-anticipated Peaky Blinders film has received an exciting update, giving fans a glimpse behind the scenes.

The film, titled The Immortal Man, follows the events of the popular TV show's finale and centre on the Shelby family during World War II.

Little is known about the project, which does not yet have a release date, but it has been revealed filming has wrapped on The Immortal Man alongside a behind-the-scenes shot of Cillian Murphy as his iconic character Tommy Shelby.

He is joined by newcomer Barry Keoghan, with a picture showing the pair smiling at each other while on set.

The caption on the Instagram post reads: "And that's a wrap! Filming has now completed on the Peaky Blinders film. Wishing a happy festive break to everyone, especially our wonderful cast and crew."

What to Read Next

Stephen Graham, Sophie Rundle, Ned Dennehy, Packy Lee, and Ian Peck will all be returning to the cast for the eagerly-anticipated feature film.

Alongside Keoghan, Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth, and Jay Lycurgo make up the newcomers announced so far.

Ahead of the film's release, 28 Years Later star Murphy has revealed he is rewatching the hit BBC series.

He told GQ: "Since I started producing – I was a producer on Peaky – you kind of have to. It kind of takes the curse off of it. It was very nice watching it, because it was actually quite a good show."

The Oppenheimer actor continued: "It was also quite heartbreaking, because I was watching Helen McCrory, and we lost her.

"But you can distance yourself from it, and look at and say, 'Right, that's the atmosphere we want. That's the look we need, that's the silhouette, and that's the energy we need from it'. We need to turn it up for the movie, obviously."

The film has been written by series creator Stephen Knight and will be directed by Tom Harper, who directed several episodes for the first season.

The Immortal Man does not yet have a release date. Peaky Blinders is available to stream on BBC iPlayer and Netflix. The Peaky Blinders movie does not yet have a release date.
