Matt Damon has expressed willingness to return to the Bourne film franchise.
Damon left his role as Jason Bourne in The Bourne Ultimatum in 2007, having been replaced by Jeremy Renner as new agent Aaron Cross for The Bourne Legacy.
The actor cast doubt over ever playing Jason Bourne again in October, but has now told Access Hollywood that he is more hopeful about returning.
"I've always been [open]," he commented. "I love that character and I love that series."
The star continued: "It's just really an issue of finding the story. We don't know what that is. How do you get that character going again? If we could crack that, we'd do it."
Damon also revealed that he has even spoken about a new Bourne film with Paul Greengrass, who directed The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum.

"We have a bunch of stuff we talk about but Bourne always comes up, inevitably, because it's a big, significant part of our lives," he disclosed.
"So we would love for it to work out, but it's a tough one."
Renner's The Bourne Legacy was a box office smash this summer, taking in more than $276 million at the worldwide box office.
