Spider-Man star JK Simmons' gruesome horror movie has landed a rare 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

It's early doors, as Glorious only premiered this week at the Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal, but the first critics to see the movie have found it to be a strange delight.

The Lovecraftian horror also stars Home & Away and True Blood's Ryan Kwanten as an unlucky-in-love man locked inside the bathroom at a remote rest stop with a mysterious figure.

Throughout the fateful night, Wes (Kwanten) is haunted by a booming, all-knowing voice coming out of a glory hole in the stall, urging him to step into a world he can't possibly fathom.

THN

"A comedic trauma seeped in flourishes of celestial colour, Glorious is one bad bathroom visit that you should make time for."

Bloody Disgusting

"Great casting, stellar camerawork, and a biting sense of splatstick humor make for a surprising new entry in single-location horror. There’s too much restraint in characterization, undermining the punchline a bit, but the cosmic karma is still fun."

"Weird, gross, beautifully transgressive, and altogether unexpected, Glorious is imbued with purpose that both raises complex questions while sticking the landing on all it seeks to achieve."
