JK Simmons' new Amazon Prime Video show Night Sky has been cancelled after one season.
The sci-fi drama premiered back in May to fairly positive reviews, the show itself focusing on a married couple (played by Simmons and Sissy Spacek) who find a portal in their backyard that leads to another planet.
While they keep the entrance secret, their lives are upended when a mysterious young man (Chai Hansen) enters their lives, with the chamber turning out to be much more than they originally imagined.

Deadline has now confirmed that the show will not be getting a second season, noting that it didn't have a huge impact on viewer numbers.
Kiah McKirnan (Mare of Easttown), Julieta Zylberberg (Separadas), Rocío Hernández (Las Estrellas) and Adam Bartley (Longmire) also starred in the show, while Holden Miller and Daniel C Connolly created the series.
What to Read Next
Simmons is well known for starring as J Jonah Jameson in the original Spider-Man movies, as well as two of the MCU films. He is also due to return as Commissioner James Gordon in DC's Batgirl.
Speaking earlier this year about his comeback in the latter, he told A.frame: "The tiny role that Commissioner Gordon played in Justice League was very businesslike and very, 'Let's see if we can stave off the end of the world!'
"What appealed to me about this movie was from Jim Gordon's point of voice, it's really more a story about him as a guy and as a father and not just about the guy who's turning on the Bat Signal and trying to keep the citizens of Gotham safe – although that's obviously also a part of the story.
"But it was a chance to delve into a different aspect of the character."
Night Sky is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.
