It looks like Sony's dream of trademarking "Let's Play" isn't going to come true.
The firm's attempt to trademark the phrase has officially been rejected by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
"Let's Play" has been deemed "confusingly similar" to the already-registered filing of "Let'z Play of America".
"Indeed, applicant's mark is identical to the majority of the wording in the registered mark," writes the USPTO. "Thus, the marks are confusingly similar."
Sony applied for the trademark last year, though word about it began to surface earlier this month.
