NBC declares that "the biggest stars in film and television" will unite for its Red Nose Day charity telethon in a new promo.

The Peacock Network will air the first US version of the bi-annual UK television event across primetime hours on Thursday, May 21.

It was announced earlier this month that Sienna Miller, Christina Aguilera and Mad Men's Jon Hamm will be among the celebrity backers aiming to raise money for children across the world.

12 charities working with children and young adults in the US and Africa will benefit from the charity event - broadcast from the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City.

This US version of the UK fundraiser will be masterminded by Comic Relief founder Richard Curtis, the director of About Time and Love Actually.

Celebrity participants are expected to be announced in the weeks leading up to the NBC premiere of Red Nose Day.
