Jane Lynch is to lead CBS comedy Angel from Hell.
The Glee actress will star in the pilot from writer and executive producer Tad Quill (Scrubs), Deadline reports.
Lynch will play an outlandish character that claims to be a guardian angel and forms an improbable friendship with Allison, the character she sets out to protect.
The actress has worked with CBS before, starring in Two and a Half Men 14 times over the space of ten years.
Lynch is best known for her turn as Sue Sylvester on Fox's Glee and has also starred in The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Role Models.
Glee recently wrapped filming for good after six seasons.
