James Franco has signed up to JJ Abrams's adaptation of Stephen King's 11/22/63.
According to TVLine, he will star in and produce the show, which will be streamed on Hulu and made up of nine episodes.
Franco will play high school English teacher Jake Epping, who travels back in time to prevent the assassination of President John F Kennedy.
The show's screenplay will be written by Bridge Carpenter of Friday Night Lights, who will also produce the series alongside Franco, Abrams's Bad Robot Productions and Warner Bros Television.
Hulu ordered the series based on King's 2011 novel back in September.
Abrams has said that he has been a fan of King's work since his school days, and described the chance to collaborate with him as "a dream".
