CBS has ordered pilots for a Marti Noxon-produced medical drama and a sitcom titled The Half of It.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Noxon is executive producing Code Black from an idea by Michael Seitzman, creator of CBS's short-lived Intelligence.
Code Black chronicles the trials and tribulations of the staff of Los Angeles's busiest emergency room, where they have to battle bureaucracy in order to best help patients.
The pilot is inspired by filmmaker Ryan McGarry's documentary of the same name.
Also being granted a pilot order by CBS is The Half of It, a comedy about a father finding newfound freedom in getting divorced.
CBS previously greenlit a pilot for a television version of the popular buddy cop Rush Hour movies.
