Sam Raimi has announced that he is writing an Evil Dead television series.
The writer and director made the announcement at San Diego Comic-Con, and added that he will be working on the project with his brother Ivan.

It was also revealed that Bruce Campbell, who starred in the original film trilogy as Ash Williams, will be involved in the series - but it is unclear whether he will appear in an on-screen role.
Campbell did not take a starring role in 2013's reboot of Evil Dead, but did make a cameo in the post-credits scene as an older Ash.
Raimi is also planning to produce a reboot of horror franchise The Grudge, and is working on a live-action adaptation of The Last of Us.
