Terry Crews will host the 30th annual Television Critics Association Awards.

Crews will honour the very best in television at the ceremony in Beverly Hills, California on July 19, organisers have confirmed.

TCA president Scott Pierce said in a statement: "This is a major milestone for our organisation, and we wanted to go all out to make it one of the biggest and best awards yet. Terry Crews is a perfect host. His infectious personality is equal parts hilarious, bold, and down-to-earth.

"His work speaks for itself - from comedy and drama, to sports and reality television, Crews is a diverse talent who can truly do it all. We're very pleased to have him on board for this landmark occasion."

Crews currently stars as NYPD Sergeant Terry Jeffords in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and will soon host the syndicated version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.
