Carrie Underwood has reacted to criticism of her performance in NBC's The Sound of Music Live.
Underwood, Stephen Moyer and Audra McDonald appeared in the live adaptation of the musical, which delivered massive ratings for the Peacock Network.
Reaction on social media and in press reviews has been mixed, but Underwood tweeted that she is immensely satisfied with the production.
"Glory to God tonight...I couldn't be more proud. What a tough thing to pull off and we did it! I am so blessed!!!" she wrote in the immediate aftermath of the telecast.
Underwood later returned to social media to respond to unfavorable reviews of her performance as Maria von Trapp.
She wrote on Friday (December 6): "Plain and simple: Mean people need Jesus… They will be in my prayers tonight... 1 Peter 2:1-25."
