We were an innocent bunch back in the 1990s. We loved Animaniacs for the wacky antics, silly faces and weird characters that dropped by each week.
But there were loads of gags that went over our heads, too, that we laughed at anyway because they sounded like they should be funny. Plus, for some reason our older siblings and parents were spitting their tea out whenever Yakko shouted "Goodnight everybody!"
