The tables are being turned on Judge Judy, after it was revealed that her jaw-dropping salary is being investigated in a lawsuit against CBS.
According to the suit filed by Rebel Entertainment Partners, the judge - real name Judy Sheindlin - has a salary of $47m a year, which is being unjustly deducted from the show's profits, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
"Defendants agreed to pay Sheindlin an upfront salary that is far in excess of any person in non-scripted television, and then included that fee in the Show's production expenses, thereby preventing Rebel from receiving any backend compensation," writes Rebel's attorney Bryan JĀ Freedman.
The suit also alleges that CBS division Big Ticket doubled Sheindlin's salary to $45 million in 2009 and changed its structure in such a way that prevented the show making a net profit.
Judge Judy has grossed $1.7bn over the course of 19 seasons on CBS.
Rebel is alleging that that it is owed 5% of the net profits of the show after an agreement made in 1995.
