Ryan Phillippe is making fans of Secrets and Lies a little less happy about its renewal yesterday (May 8) by revealing that he won't be a part of season two.
The actor had the leading role in ABC's freshman drama series as a family man who becomes the chief suspect in a little boy's murder.

ABC ordered a second season of the ten-episode drama series on Thursday, but Phillippe has since clarified on Twitter that he will not be included.
The actor wrote: "I'm so happy and excited for all involved that secrets & lies will return for another season. Congrats to Juliette [Lewis], Barbie Kligman, Aaron Kaplan & the writers.
"Since there seems to be some confusion…the 1st season was a/b a man accused, his family & how he ultimately sacrifices himself for them.

"That story has been told to completion, this season, as was always the intent."
It isn't clear yet what the basis for Secrets and Lies' second season storyline will be.
Phillippe recently revealed that he has been approached for another television project with Marvel Studios.
"Marvel is interested in talking about Netflix, a series possibly," Phillippe told The Howard Stern Show in April. "The Daredevil series is great, right?"
There has since been speculation that he could be up for the role of Iron Fist in one of Netflix's five inter-connected Marvel dramas.
Secrets and Lies made its debut on ABC in March as a US remake of a popular Australian series of the same name.
