Prime Video has shared an "electrifying" first look at Vought Rising, the upcoming prequel to The Boys. Set in the 195os, the series explores the "twisted origins" of Vought International, the company behind Compound V that created 'Supes'.

The show takes place in New York City and centres around Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) and Stormfront (Aya Cash), while being driven by a murder-mystery storyline.

Cash and Ackles will also serve as executive producers, while Mason Dye, Will Hochman, KiKi Layne, Jorden Myrie, Nicolo Pasetti, Elizabeth Posey, Ricky Staffieri and Brian J Smith round out the cast.

Ahead of Vought Rising's release next year, fans have been given a special first look at the series. The teaser trailer opens with Soldier Boy's voice as he offers to help defend his country.

"You know, if you're working on something, maybe I could help," he suggests. "I wanna fight for the flag. I wanna be a hero."

What to Read Next

What follows is a montage featuring various other Supes, including Clara Vought aka Stormfront, Private Angel (Posey), Bombsight (Dye) and Torpedo (Hochman). We see the early stages of experimentation, violent gunfire and, of course, lots of blood splatters, while the Supes are paraded around like celebrities.

"There is a brighter future..." Stormfront tells Soldier Boy. "All we need to do is take it."

Vought Rising was first confirmed back in 2024 by Paul Grellong and showrunner Eric Kripke, who will both serve as executive producers.

"We are excited to bring you the next deranged series from the world of The Boys," they said in a joint statement at the time of the announcement.

"It's a twisted murder mystery about the origins of Vought in the 1950s, the early exploits of Soldier Boy, and the diabolical manoeuvres of a Supe known to fans as Stormfront, who was then going by the name Clara Vought."

They concluded: "We cannot wait to blow your minds and trouble your souls with this salacious, grisly saga drenched in blood and Compound V."

The Boys is available to stream in full on Prime Video.
