The Handmaid's Tale star Elisabeth Moss's huge role in spin-off The Testaments has been unveiled.
The new show acts as a sequel to the hit Hulu series, and is based on author Margaret Attwood's 2019 book of the same name that takes place 15 years after the events of The Handmaid's Tale.
While we previously knew that Ann Dowd will return as character Aunt Lydia, who is one of the narrators of The Testaments, streamer Hulu has now excitingly confirmed that Moss will be back, this time as an executive producer on the show.
It has also been announced that filming on the show will get underway from April 7.
Alongside Dowd, the show will star Blue Jean's Lucy Halliday as Daisy, a woman from Canada who acts as one of the other narrators in the book, while Presumed Innocent's Chase Infiniti plays the third narrator Agnes, a woman in Gilead.

Also set to appear are Rowan Blanchard, Mattea Conforti, Mabel Li, Amy Seimetz, Brad Alexander, Zarrin Darnell-Martin, Eva Foote, Isolde Ardies, Shechinah Mpumlwana, Birva Pandya and Kira Guloien.
The story follows the three characters as their fates "become intertwined as they uncover the secrets of Gilead and the resistance against its regime".
Moss, who plays June Osborne in The Handmaid's Tale, is no stranger to working behind the scenes, having directed multiple episodes of the main show – including in the upcoming final season.

A recent trailer for the sixth season gave a taste of what's to come, with June leading a rebellion against the oppressive Gilead regime.
The new episodes are set to premiere next week, with the synopsis reading: "This final chapter of June’s journey highlights the importance of hope, courage, solidarity, and resilience in the pursuit of justice and freedom."
Meanwhile, co-showrunner Yahlin Chang recently teased a more "feel-good" approach in The Handmaid's Tale's concluding run.
"I only want to end with victory and feelings of hope and triumph and uplift," Chang said.
The Handmaid's Tale returns on April 8. The show streams on Hulu in the US and both Channel 4 and Prime Video in the UK.
