Regina King has landed a role in HBO drama The Leftovers.
The Southland alum will play Doctor Erika Murphy, a wife and mother of two teenage children who runs the local urgent care centre, TVLine reports.
The Leftovers season 1 review: Exhausting, suffocating, brilliant
The Leftovers is based on Tom Perrotta's 2011 novel of the same name and takes place three years after an unexplainable disappearance of 140 million people.
The show is undergoing a creative overhaul after using most of the book's content for season one.
In addition to cutting roughly half the original cast, season two is relocating from New York to a town in Texas.
