You'll never complain about trouble at the airport again after watching The Leftovers' final season trailer.
Kevin Garvey (Justin Theroux) goes on the flight from hell - quite literally - as HBO's criminally-underrated supernatural drama series moves to Australia for its conclusion.
There's nothing more unsettling than hearing a flight attendant warn: "While worldwide flooding is expected, we should be taking off before the rain begins.
"In the event of cabin decompression, place your oxygen masks over your mouth as we all prepare to take our last breaths. Please be sure to keep your seatbelt fastened as everything you know and love will soon be gone. Please prepare for final departure."
Mixed in with that sublimely creepy warning are shots of people running for their lives, Kevin freaking out and Matt Jamison (Christopher Eccleston) wildly swinging an axe. It'll be an interesting season, for sure.
In terms of what we can expect from these final episodes, co-creator Damon Lindelof previously dropped some hints about The Leftovers' last scene.
What to Read Next
"We eventually said [in the writers room], what do we want the last scene of the series to be, who's in that scene, and what's happening in that scene? What do we want the scene to evoke emotionally?" he revealed.
"And then, on a storytelling level, what happens, what feels like finality in a show that has never been about resolving mystery and delivering conclusive endings... How do we want the audience to be feeling when it's all over?
"Season three, the show is ending, and that's infusing it with a certain degree of energy that's different, perhaps, than the previous seasons."
The Leftovers begins its Mad Max-esque final run on Sunday, April 16 at 9pm ET on HBO.
